The seeds of the foundation were perhaps sown nearly a century back when my grandfather, Late Birendra Nath Pal died sometime in 1940. He left beind 6 small children, eldest of whom was about 15 years old. Without much savings, the family was in dire straights and his yongest brother Late Barindra Nath Pal stepped in. He supported the family through those difficult days providing monetary and other support. As the brothers grew up over the next 2 decades, he helped them get jobs and stand on their feet. Without his steady support, our family would not have been able to survive.
All this left an indelible mark on the mind of my father, Late Dipyendra Nath Pal who alongwith my mother Mrs Bula Pal, made every effort to support all those who needed help or support with their limited means. He sponsored prizes in school for the meritorious students and Mrs Bula Pal contributed to various causes like Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Kali Mandir, donation of sarees to poor etc. They helped people in need quietly without expecting anything in return except self-satisfaction. However all this was never formally done.
Running any organization requires non-monetary and monetary support. Individuals working at the Foundation are paid a token amount in recognization of their efforts. Other expenses include electricity, printing, internet, mobile charges, local conveyance. All expenses are met through donation received from donors who are individuals and corporate bodies. Palium Software has committed 10% of their annual profits as a donation towards the foundation.
Complete transparency is maintained by displaying list of donors prominently which can be validated at our office. Regular books of accounts are maintained to ensure proper reconciliation of funds. Donors are informed about their donations and how the funds have been used with statements and photos.
Any individual willing to volunteer their time are welcome to join us. One can contribute time, effort or donation as per their competencies. Just fill up the Volunteer form with complete details and our office will get back to you.
Any individual can make a donation of any amount. Companies, Trusts and other bodies can also make donations with proper receipts.
It is a shame that millions of people across the world go to bed hungry. We cannot help everyone - but can try and make a difference in the lives of some people.
